Transportation

Staunton Senior Center has vans that take members to and from the Center. Pickup times in the morning are generally between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., depending on where the member resides. Vans depart the Center in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

Our vans serve:

  • Staunton and western Augusta County – five days per week

Other destinations:

Also offered are weekly trips to stores like Wal-Mart, CVS and TJ Maxx. Each month the vans take members to other community activities such as Bingo at the Verona and Staunton Moose Lodges, the Staunton City Library for “A Little Lunch Music” and lunch at Jollivue UMC’s senior program.

How much does transportation cost?

There is no charge for transportation to Center members; however, voluntary contributions are accepted and encouraged according to one’s financial ability. Contributions support the operation and upkeep of the vans. All contributions are voluntary, private, and confidential.

The cost for guests who are under 60 years old, or are over 60 but have not completed membership paperwork after two visits, is $2 per round-trip each day. Non-member volunteers are asked to pay $2.

Contact SSC at 886-4634 to see if your home is one that may be added to our van routes.
