Chronic Disease Self-Management Program

  • Summer 2011 Session: To Be Determined – class minimum is 10 participants
  • Where: SSC Conference Room
  • Description: This six-week workshop is designed to lower the stress associated with chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, etc. Participants will learn a variety of necessary day-to-day management skills needed to maintain and/or increase life’s activities.Pre-registration is required. The deadline is Oct 25 (or until the class is full).

James Madison University – Lifelong Learning Institute

JMU-LLI offers diverse and interesting non-credit classes for anyone age 50+ in two five-week sessions. Classes take place in the Center and are led by faculty and community persons who are experts in their field. There are no exams or grades, just a sharing with others in the interest of learning. 

Previous classes offered included “Creating with Colored Pencils,” and “Butterflies – Let’s Wing It.”

All courses require a minimum of 8 participants, and may have a maximum number of participants, based on location space, so get your registration in early! To insure proper registration and allow adequate time to prepare class materials, please register for classes no later than one week before classes begin.
